Carine Roitfeld Gets a Second Job at Harper's Bazaar

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Carine Roitfeld, editor of her own mag CR Fashion Book and known baby/Kate Upton enthusiast, was named Global Fashion Director of Harper's Bazaar. Beginning March 2013, her role will include collaborating with Bazaar's creative director and close friend Stephen Gan on several stories a year for all 26 international editions as well as work on covers and editorials.

For the uninitiated, Roitfeld left Vogue Paris two years ago under rumors of a fall-out with Conde Nast, so taking up with a rival publisher should prove interesting. Regardless, expect a lot more five minute makeup tutorials and—hopefully—insight into the benefits of inner-mouth massages in over 20 languages.
