It seems like everyday a new company attempts to harness the power of pretty that Pinterest has down pat into something shoppable. Zappos launched PinPointing, which recommends shoes based on Pinterest pictures and Facebook is testing a "Want" button along with "Collections." Now eBay adds a strong contender to the mix: The Feed.
The Feed allows you to curate your shopping experience by adding items you're on the hunt for by category, which then pop up on their personal Feed as sellers post them. The set-up helps facilitate the discovery of new items and lays them out in a "magazine-like" (read: Pinterest) lay-out. You can also edit your Feed by adding or removing product categories or specific items. Ebay's president explain the Feed's purpose, saying, "Choice is everywhere. What matters most is helping consumers find what they want," which apparently is "a curated experience that isn't intrusive." Give the non-intrusive shopping experience a whirl here.
