Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson have just found themselves with a little extra time on their hands. Crew members from their NBC reality show Fashion Star, which is currently taping its second season, are on strike. Members of IATSE—that would be the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees—started picketing the show this weekend, saying they're owed health and pension benefits.
Because of the strike, show production was called off over the weekend and everybody was sent home. Right now, there's no schedule to get the show back, and the two sides aren't even negotiating with each other yet.
What is up with season 2 of this show? Already, host Elle MacPherson was dumped in favor of Louise Roe, and H&M dropped out of its role as a potential buyer. There have also been rumors since day one that Jessica and Nicole can't stand each other and don't want to be in pictures together. Will this be the straw that breaks the show's back, or will NBC find a way to - as another fashion show star likes to say - make it work?
