Comedy writer Bonnie Datt once bought a chainmail vest "for clubbing"—a purchase she later came to lament, once she realized that chainmail wasn't particularly slimming. Inspired by this, she now spends her spare time asking famous people to dish about purchases which they initially loved—but ended up regretting, for Buyer's Remorse.
In honor of this week's Project Runway season finale, we bring you our first ever Buyer's Remorse to take place during one of the show's episodes. And not just any episode, but one from this season. We spoke to designer Nathan Paul, who showed some impressive designs early in Season Ten (the peach gown, the olive suit, the Dylan's Candy frock). Oddly enough, the FIT educated designer's Buyer's Remorse had nothing to do with the garment which eventually got him ousted. Instead, it was for something he purchased during an earlier team challenge.
Racked: Can you tell us about something you've had Buyer's Remorse about?
Nathan Paul: The print that we had on our team challenge. It was a team challenge and the rest of my team liked the print and we just owned it. I made a top out of that print which didn't fare so well with the judges. That would be my buyer's remorse.
The dreaded print
