If you thought Target's 24 CFDA designer collab with Neiman Marcus was a coup for your holiday shopping strategy, you should hear what else they have in store (and out of store). The multichannel assault will occur through a partnership with ABC, who ushered in the first big reveal of the collab on Good Morning America and sole sponsorship of the midseason finale for the network's show Revenge. The finale will feature—get this—all 50 products from the collab.
In terms of loyalty rewards, the retailer is upping its arsenal as well. Red Card holders, or rather the company's "credit and debit card," will qualify for free shipping and an extra 30 days to return purchases between November 1 and December 24. Target is also extending its price-match policy to its e-commerce site, and enabling customers to do the same with Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and other competitors in that time period as well (i.e. if Wal-Mart has a better price, Target will give you that price).
Holy crap, there's more: Over 800 separate pieces of special holiday gifts including accessories, decór, nail polish, and clutches in distinctive colors and packaging will hit stores soon and they've pulled in some big guns for advertising. Craig McDean shot the campaign, filmmaker and all around cool person Quentin Jones illustrated parts of it, and it features "It girl" among "It girls" Karlie Kloss, who apparently goes for a swing on an oversized metal outline of an ornament.
Oh yeah, and they're taking over Canada with 124 stores by the end of 2013. Whew, we don't know whether to be excited or just go take a nap until January.
