The Maison Martin Margiela x H&M collection doesn't drop until November 15, but fashion folk/celebs were out in droves in NYC last night to fete its imminent arrival. And now you can see all 100+ pieces (both as separates and styled on models) in the gallery after the jump.
From the over-sized, draped volume play to the trompe a l'oeil heels and menswear tailoring for womenswear, Margiela designers avoided dumbing down the design for the lower price point. Instead, they intended the collection to function as a "synopsis" of Margiela's history, even going so far as to label each piece "with a unique tag indicating the season from which is originated, spanning 23 years since the Maison's founding," according to the press release.
Also after the jump, watch as the likes of Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Selma Blair, Alan Cumming, and Chace Crawford say nice things about both Margiela and H&M while modeling the range, dancers reveal the clothes in a number as avant-garde as the collection, and Kanye West's red carpet smile fake-out.
