Over the weekend, a British retailer called OMGFashion decided to out-cheap all the other fast fashion sites out there and sell a dress for 99 pence (that's British for "cents"). Even though the dress' cuteness factor is debatable, 99 pence is super cheap and so many people bought the dress that the store had to restock it several times. They sold about 1,000 of the pink and gold peplum-y dresses in two days.
The Daily Mail, whose article about the dress going on sale is one of the reasons that OMGFashion's site crashed yesterday, seems absolutely astonished that people would flock to the internet to buy a cheap, disposable item of clothing. The dress is now sold out, but OMGFashion says that they'll restock before Christmas. Until then, somebody in London needs to start a Tumblr full of photos of girls wearing that dress.
