Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

His on-again girlfriend Kristen Stewart is the face of a Dolce & Gabbana fragrance, and now it's Robert "SparkleVamp" Pattinson's turn to work with a high-end brand—in this case, Dior, who just signed him to a three-year deal. He'll be starring in campaigns for Dior's men's fragrances, and getting paid about $12 million for his troubles.

Though R.Patz is in good company among other celebrities (Mila Kunis, Marion Cotillard, Natalie Portman) over at Dior, the most obvious similarity right now is Brad Pitt's so-bad-they're-bad ads for Chanel No. 5. Might we suggest that R.Patz's agent veto any commercials that involve random dead-eyed monologues?

Update: Dior smacks down the rumor, saying they're not working with R.Patz at this current second. That means, though, that they're still open to working with him later. If you were hoping for Dior sparkly vampire cologne, you're going to have to keep waiting.
