Comedy writer Bonnie Datt once bought a chainmail vest "for clubbing"—a purchase she later came to lament, once she realized that chainmail wasn't particularly slimming. When it comes to fashion, there are few faces more familiar on television than Jay Manuel. Thanks to his time as a judge and creative director on America's Top Model, interviewing celebrities on red carpets for E, and co-hosting Fashion Police, the former makeup artist is now best known as a fashion expert. When we asked Jay what he's had Buyer's Remorse about, we suspected and hoped it would be something fabulous. And it was.
Racked: Can you tell us something you've had Buyer's Remorse about?
Jay Manuel: Once I got this beaded black Valentino tux jacket that was amazing. It was one of those one-time wears, but it was so exorbitantly expensive, what could you do with it after? Eventually, what I ended up doing was turning it into good—I auctioned it off. The proceeds went to Operation Smile; I'm an ambassador.
