In a new series, we're brushing up on our fashion diction with a little help from our friends. Today, we get a lesson in Altuzarra.
The New York-based, Paris-born designer Joseph Altuzarra built his fashion resume slowly with an internship under Marc Jacobs, a stint at Givenchy under Riccardo Tisci, and freelance work for Proenza Schouler before launching his own eponymous label with a body-conscious aesthetic in Spring 2009. Clearly he did something right there because just two years later he received a CFDA Award, went on to collab with J Crew, and took Lana Del Rey to this year's MET Ball (which one of those three is the most notable, you decide). After the jump, CFDA CEO Steven Kolb teaches us all how to pronounce his name.
