Seven hours after doors opened for the Margiela x H&M launch, eBay is predictably bloated with items from the collaboration. So far, however, it appears to be going better for buyers than for sellers. Pricier items like the leather biker jacket and the down coat have multiple listings with zero bids, and many of the dresses are going for less that the in-store price: This red asymmetrical number is listed with a minimum bid of $118 right now, as opposed to the $199 original price.
The downside is that there doesn't appear to be much variety in the selection, and some of the most sought-after items are missing altogether. Those candy wrapper clutches and surreal glove bags are few and far between, for example. Another downside for shoppers is that many of the items have a high starting bid—but the silver lining there is that with zero bidders, sellers may be dropping prices soon enough.
