Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Today is the big launch of Maison Martin Margiela's collaboration with H&M. And though editors and VIPs got a preview last night (more on that later), everyone else had to wait until doors opened at 8 am this morning. So naturally someone was going to sleep on a sidewalk. Our sister site in New York reports that the first people in line at New York's Fifth Avenue flagship are Korean tourists who staked out their place at 9 am yesterday morning. Stay tuned for more reports of opening day chaos from our sister sites across the country.
