In one of the fastest psyched-to-bummed turn-arounds the internet has seen this month, the Missoni family denied Margherita Missoni's slip that the house was creating a lower-priced diffusion line, calling her quote one that "had been taken out of context by the Wall Street Journal." But that doesn't mean Missoni is ruling out lower-priced possibilities.
Angela Missoni told Vogue UK:
Our collaboration with Target was a huge success, but it was only available to the American market and we had so much feedback from people wanting to buy it overseas. We may look to developed similar collaborations in the future for other country-specific projects. In the meantime, they'll be polishing off the website, developing e-commerce, and sprucing up the Milan flagship. Also a book and "potentially" an exhibition are on the way. "But," Angela insists, "we would not want it to be a classic retrospective, as although we have a fantastic heritage, the essence of Missoni lies in the future of the brand." And future collabs, hopefully.
