Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Why read polls or boring charts when you can take the pulse of a nation by going on Pinterest and looking at pictures of nail art? Our highly scientific political survey took place on the photo-pinning site. We tried a variety of search term combos, but turned up five Obama manicures (including one from Eve but none from Beyonce) and just one Romney manicure. Conclusion: either Pinterest tags are busted, or no one cares about political nail art.

The upside: red, white, and blue nails are a cute look no matter which candidate you're rooting for.
