Modern Family's OPI Nail Polishes Will Probably Win an Emmy

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Has the long reign of the pop star nail polish collab finally ended? The new trend in celeb-branded nails are TV shows. This morning we reported on Deborah Lippmann's Girls lineup, and now Modern Family is getting into the game with an OPI partnership. The colors are named for each of the show's characters, and in the name of equality the dudes are included too.

Only one question, though: does this cause a conflict of interest with Sofia Vergara's deal with CoverGirl, or does it not count since her character's the one getting lacquers named after her?
