The buzzy Lena Dunham-created HBO show Girls is coming back for a second season on January 13. To prep for the big day, there's a freshly released soundtrack including songs from Santigold and Best Coast. There have been a slew of red carpet appearances. And now there's going to be a nail polish collection courtesy of Deborah Lippmann.
Lippmann announced the lineup on her official website over the weekend. There are mockups of the four colors, named after and inspired by the four Girls themselves: Hannah ("hapless hunter green"), Marnie ("prim and proper pink"), Shoshanna ("virtuous vivid violet"), and Jessa ("bohemian burgundy"). This ought to officially remove all doubt about whether the Girls are the Sex and the City characters for the 2010s, no?
Per the Deborah Lippman website, Lena Dunham has this to say about the polish: "Deborah Lippmann's colors are irreverent and classy and I've always coveted them (and stolen them from my mother), so who better to embody the Girls spirit in polish form. I've been wearing Hannah like it's going out of style."
You can pre-order the collection from the Deborah Lippman website, but so far it's only going as a set of four for $45. That should be fine, though, as all women travel in packs of four and presumably you have three besties of distinct archetypal personalities who will happily take their corresponding polish color off your hands.
