Spreading tidings of peace and joy to all corners of the World Wide Web, the Kardashian Christmas card has landed on the internet.
This year, the reality-TV family went glam and modern with an all-white theme shot by Nick Saglimbeni. Kanye is missing, which is to be expected as he's not officially a part of the family. But Mercy, the kitten Kanye gave Kim as a gift earlier this fall and who sadly died of stomach cancer a few weeks ago, is there next to Kim, under the glasses of champagne.
Mercy's tale is a short one, as she died at only four months old, but here it is: Shortly after receiving Mercy as a gift from Kanye, Kim discovered she was allergic to Mercy. Kim explains in a blog post: "I thought that it might pass, but after a few weeks I decided to go visit two separate allergists, one of whom said my allergies wouldn't get any better unless I started taking injections. I had fallen SO in love with Mercy that I wanted to try everything I could to keep her, but I didn't think it was safe to resort to injections, and it wasn't fair on Mercy, because I couldn't play with her or give her as much attention as I wanted to"
So Kim gave her to Khloe's assistant Sydney, who had recently lost a cat of her own and who made a very loving new mom to the kitten.
But according to Kim's blog, a couple of weeks later Mercy was sadly taken ill. The vet discovered an untreatable stomach cancer and the kitten died the next day. "It broke not only my heart that little Mercy died at only four months old, but Sydney's too," Kim writes.
Presumably, Mercy was included in the family photo via Photoshop, as the Kardashians have said that any family member who can't make it to the shoot gets added to the photo via the photo-editing miracle software.
