The future for denim stalwart J Brand is bright—as in California bright. With the help of the company's new investor, Fast Retailing, J Brand plans to open a flagship in Los Angeles next year before heading to "other fashion capitals," according to WWD. They're also upping the design game by tackling men's RTW and expanding into women's handbags and shoes.
Recall that Fast Retailing, which owns Uniqlo and Theory, has been trying to establish a presence on the West Coast, so J Brand's strong LA base was a massive pro for the group. But the backscratching (thankfully) goes both ways. J Brand's CEO Jeff Rudes further hints that the mutual benefit could help J Brand denim fans everywhere quell one particular itch: J Brand denim for Uniqlo-esque price point. Rudes told WWD that, "As a good partner, our resources are available. And being that we have different price points, it would not conflict or hurt either to be able to share certain resources."
