Retro Hairstyles Were Alive and Well at the Jenny Packham Show

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This morning's Jenny Packham show definitely had no shortage of vintage, and to compliment the 1940s-style gowns she sent down the runway, Packham also put lots of old-school hairstyles on display, too. Dita Von Teese, who was also at Zac Posen yesterday, tweeted: "Got up early for the Jenny Packham show.... Film noir glamour plus a dubstep soundtrack. Nice." Anyway, we learned how to make Victory Rolls not too long ago, and since this little 'do is just one roll instead of two, we're thinking it'll require about half the work. But, probably not. Take a peek through the gallery above for inspiration—unless reverse ombre is more your thing.
