Alice Dellal in Karl Lagerfeld's "My New Friend 'Boy'" Video

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

After a few months of anticipation, it's finally here: Karl Lagerfeld's new campaign video for the Boy Chanel handbag collection, starring model Alice Dellal. The video replicates an old-timey silent film, complete with twitchy piano music and grainy, jumpy camera shots. Though we already knew that Dellal would be more lady-like in this video that normal, that doesn't mean there's not a very clear shot of her in ripped stockings and a leather jacket.
