To keep up with Macy's and Target, Lord & Taylor has announced that it will soon be launching designer capsule collections. First up will be a collection called Yoana by Yoana Baraschi, a 12-piece line with designer Yoana Baraschi, whose signature collection is currently sold at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and other specialty stores.(And let's not forget that Zac Posen will do a capsule Z Spoke collection for the department store as well.)
Baraschi explains that the collection "crystallizes the playfulness and chic of my signature collection and makes it available to a broader customer base." WWD adds that five of the dresses will be sold at all Lord & Taylor locations, while the rest of the collection will only be stocked at 11 stores. At this point, it's hard to tell where L&T will fall on the collaboration-reception spectrum: There's Target, on one end, which has been responsible for complete mass hysteria, and then Macy's, on the other, which has been allowing its designer collabs to launch much quieter in comparison.
