Banana Republic Is Launching a Second Mad Men Collection

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Because the world definitely needs more Don Draper lookalikes, Banana Republic has announced that it'll be launching a second Mad Men–inspired collection on March 1st. (Season five, of course, is returning March 25th—more vodka gimlets! More extramarital affairs! More Playtex campaigns!) The upcoming 40-piece collection was again designed in collaboration with Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant, and it'll include men's, women's, and jewelry inspired by the show's country club scenes.

For the guys, there will be bright polos, "dapper dressing separates," checked woven shirts, argyle vests, blazers and more. Joans and Bettys—or Megans—can look for ladylike dresses in brights, neutrals, and florals, as well as cardigans, lace shell blouses, and coral cropped capris. We're imagining the clothes will make plenty of appearances at Mad Men viewing parties, mostly because we will probably be the ones hosting them, in the coral capris, with the vodka gimlets.
