Update: We have a winner, folks! Thanks for playing!
TOMS is well known for their "buy a pair for you, we'll send one to a kid who can't afford any" shoe deal, which they hype annually with their "One Day Without Shoes" event. This is more than a day without Loubs—the shoe fast is meant to make you think of all the kids around the world who can't afford to put anything on their feet, no matter how hot, cold, or muddy it may be outside. And if you are brave enough to participate in this year's barefoot fest, which will be taking place on April 10, nail polish brand Essie will make sure your pedicure is both perfectly chic and appropriately socially conscious. "We wanted to come up with something that would really spark conversation and bring attention to the campaign," said company founder Essie Weingarten. "There’s no better way to do that than with blue toes!"
For this year's event, Essie created a limited edition shade called Barefoot in Blue (pictured, and not meant to be confused with their Topless and Barefoot color). And because we love TOMS, and toes, and nail polish, and children, and you, we are giving a bottle away today.
To win your very own blue toes, sign up for our newsletter below. In this afternoon's edition we'll release a secret phrase and the first person to email us with the phrase, their full name, and their mailing address gets the polish and the glory. (And don't worry if you miss out: From March 7 through 22, Essie will also be giving the polish away. Visit One Day Without Shoes or the Essie or TOMS Facebook pages for more info.)
