Newsflash: Iris Apfel is 90 years old, meaning she's probably not into wearing five-inch heels anymore. (She did, after all, recently tell Footwear News that "those big platforms and insanely high heels" are her least favorite trend.) Nonetheless, the Telegraph reports that Jimmy Choo has named a shoe after Apfel, and is calling it the "ultimate homage to the grand dame of idiosyncratic fashion."
Apfel has advocated that she likes "clean-looking shoes," which the Choos are not. There's a lot of stuff on them, including tassels in all sorts of colors, woven straps, you name it. And all that stuff will set you back $1,495—a good chunk of change we don't anticipate Apfel spending anytime soon on something so opposite from the classic pump she favors.
