The 2012 CFDA Award Nominees Look a Lot Like Last Year's

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced a bevy of nominations for the 2012 awards last night, and from the looks of it, they were cribbing from last year's nomination sheet for most of the categories. For the Womenswear Designer of the Year award, nominations include the returning champs Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler and the oft-nominated Marc Jacobs. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen for The Row round out the category, having been bumped up from their Swarovski Award nom last year. Cue The Jeffersons theme song.

Patrik Ervell, Simon Spurr, and Billy Reid are up for Menswear Designer of the Year, but the latter is the only one new to the list. In accessories, you'll also recognize the nominees from last year: Alexander Wang, Reed Krakoff, and, again, the boys of Proenza Schouler.

One new face (for the fashion scene at least) is host Seth Myers, who you know from SNL's Weekend Update. Not a totally random choice, however, as he has previous experience with awards events: On his resume are last year's ESPYs (those are for sports, right?) and the most recent White House Correspondents' Dinner. Apparently, he's the host du jour, and isn't it fashionable to get him while he's hot?
