Hunger Games premiers (surprise!) tonight at midnight, so it's time to put the finishing touches on the getup you've been planning for days months. We've rounded up three how-to beauty videos from the internet, a.k.a Hunger Games's dominion, that will set your look on fire (figuratively) in roughly the time it takes to plow through the first book. Replicate these Katniss Everdeen's firey nails or badass braid if you want to be subtle about it, or go for Effie Trinket's makeup if you're really ready to let your fangirl flag fly. No judgement.
1. Nails On Fire
Video by CutePolish
Maybe the whole China Glaze polish back-and-forth has put you off to anything nail related when it comes to the trilogy, but if not, check out this how-to video by CutePolish that uses an original DIY nail technique to get the fiery details just right. The majority of the first minute is dedicated to a lot of running through wilderness with a bow and arrow, so skip to second 55 to get started.
2. Katniss Everdeen's Hair
Katniss sports a messy but functional reverse French braid which translates well into both badass manhunting scenarios and everyday life. This video by LetsMakeItUp offers a simple French braid recap (for those who were absent that day in girlhood) with a twist. The goods start around second 49.
3. Effie Trinket's Makeup
Video by KlairedelysArt
What with the trailers, film stills, teaser clips, and the occasional nail polish advertisement to go off of, it's no surprise that there are already a thousand how-tos for Effie Trinket's make-up on Youtube. We chose this one by KlairedelysArt because the finished product looks almost as awesome as Elizabeth Bank's character and also because the background music is so very soothing.
