J Brand's Capsule Collection for Shopbop Takes It Down a Notch

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

J Brand's spring collection is full of denim in bright colors, floral patterns, and even tie-dye, so it's interesting that its capsule collection for Shopbop is exactly the opposite. In fact, it's almost subdued.

The lookbook explains that the collection is composed of six exclusive pieces in denim and leather, and that "everyone knew color and print would be big for spring, so we wanted to show a different point of view on denim." So, Shopbop told them to calm it down. Take a look through the gallery above to see all six pieces, and then shop the entire collection directly off the lookbook here.
