With a preference for nude and black heels, Kate Middleton generally prefers her shoes to be seen but not heard. No longer. Among the six louder-than-she's-used-to shoe designs presented to her for a De Montfort University design contest, the Duchess has chosen Becka Hunt's blue suede stilettos, Grazia reports.

The kicker is that as part of the rules of the contest, Kate must actually wear the shoes. But there's no mystery as to why Kate was drawn to Hunt's design. The-20-year-old footwear design student explains to Grazia that the deep blue pumps with beaded lacing were inspired by Kate's sapphire engagement ring "and the fact she is a Princess."
