This week's challenge: The designers must do something they've never done before.
And both contestants in the first showcase do just that. Ross Bennett gets an offer for his retro-inspired lingerie from H&M, which the store produced in two versions: pink satin with black lace trim, and white satin with blue trim. Both go for $14.95 per set. Next, Macy's and Saks bid it out over Lucianna Scarabello's collarless cropped jackets, with the final going to Macy's for $100,000. The store produced all three versions of the collarless cropped jackets, and they're available now for $99.
H&M offers $50,000 for Nzimiro Oputa "flirty, romantic" asymmetrical dress—one long sleeve, one short—which is now available for $29.95. H&M produced the dress in black and purple.
Continuing with the '80s theme, Ronnie Escalante sells his scuba-inspired bathing suit with a front zipper and mesh insert to H&MMacy's for $50,000. "It's very difficult to make a one-piece swimsuit sexy, and you absolutely did that." It's been produced in all black and aqua and black, and is available for $89.
And the last buy of the night, Kara Laricks' asymmetrical chiffon dress goes to Saks—their only buy of the night—for $100,000. Saks didn't make it in the print or two-tone looks that went down the runway, but you can get it in all black for $375 right now on their website.
