Belgian design god Dries Van Noten wrapped up the Alliance Francaise's Fashion Talks in New York last thursday night with some insight into his design philosophy, his inclination toward ugliness, and his strict upbringing in '70s era French fashion schools. But don't expect him to embrace social media any time soon. Instead, he prefers to put all of his communicative eggs in one basket: "Fashion shows are really my way of communication. I don't go on Twitter, I don't go to parties, I don't often do fashion talks like this. So for me, it's really what I want to communicate." Let's hope Tim Gunn won't be too lonely out there in the Twittershere all by himself.
