Uniqlo really, really wants you to stop all those Gap comparisons. "We are not the new Gap," the a brand rep told the Wall Street Journal. "We are not style-driven, we do not believe customers need advice on dressing themselves—they are smart enough to make their own choices." Fine, so, if they're not the new Gap, who are they? Why, they're a tech company! "Our competitor is Apple. We don't see ourselves as having competitors in the fashion-retailing space." [WSJ]
