Uniqlo Watch

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Another day, another Uniqlo rumor. This morning's edition: e-commerce! Ad Age is claiming to have gotten their hands on a document detailing Uniqlo's plans to launch an online store by mid-October, though Uniqlo remains noncommittal on the issue. CEO Shin Odake told Racked last month that though there will be online shopping someday, there is no potential launch date yet. "We want to make sure that when we launch e-commerce that it is a dynamic, innovative, easy to use system for the consumer," he said. If Ad Age is correct, however, that means we'll all be able to shop Uniqlo online in time for the holidays, which would really be the gift that keeps on giving. [Ad Age]
