Tonight's challenge: Mentor's choice. The mentors—Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson, and John Varvatos—work one on one with designers and explain how design works in the real world.
And we're off! Tonight's H&M winners: Luciana Scarabello and Orly Shani. Orly's zipper back dress is now available for $34.95. Only in the blue colorway, however, not the red or yellow-African print hybrid she showed on the runway. Was Orly surprised? You betcha! We spoke to her at a event tonight, and she admitted that she thought H&M would go for the yellow. "I could have sworn that's the one H&M was going to go with because they're so print conscious, but I love this color," she told us. Very well, then.
As for Lucinana, H&M picked up her floral print dress and it is now available for $39.95. We asked her if she had H&M in mind when she was designing: "I knew either Saks or H&M are going to like it, and they both totally bid on it!" she said.
Macy's lone wining bid went to Ronnie Escalante this week, for his one-shoulder, asymmetrical evening gown, which they produced in black and bright red. You can get it now for $169.
And last but not least, Saks stayed true to their love of Kara Laricks, and produced all three pieces of her suit: not only her plaid shorts, but also her 3-button blazer, and wide-leg pants. You can get them right now for $140.
And that's it! Stay tuned for our full recap tomorrow, and click through the gallery above for a full selection of tonight's winning pieces, including shopping links and prices.
