Yesterday afternoon, Hello Kitty and Sephora launched their latest utterly girly collaboration with a tea party at the Crosby Hotel in New York. The set-up was quite what you would expect from the oh-so-cute character: white porcelain tea cups, Hello Kitty confetti, and lovely pink springtime bouquets. Guests helped themselves to petit finger sandwiches, raspberry pastries, and (best of all) swirled, bubblegum pink Hello Kitty cupcakes before sitting down in garden-style wicker chairs to hear about the new Hello Pretty and Big Pink Bow beauty and fragrance lines.
The collections, like the food, were super sweet. Starting in May, you can fill your Sephora shopping cart with the limited edition beauty line, which includes a hot pink, two-tiered palette of eight eyeshadow shades for $36, a bronzer for $28, a polka-dotted mirror compact for $19, a ruffled makeup bag for $29, and a retractable Kabuki brush topped with lil' miss Kitty for $28. Also popping up in Sephora this summer is the sophomore edition of the Big Pink Bow fragrance line, which is marked by the soft and floral notes of pineapple, honeysuckle, gardenia, coconut, and vanilla—which, when it comes down to it, is pretty much what we always imagined Hello Kitty would smell like.—Anne Ebani
