Where to Get Cheap Manicures in New York, LA, and Chicago

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

To kick off our first-ever Beauty Week, our local sites rounded up some of their favorite spots to get cheap manicures and pedicures. If you're in the New York City, Los Angeles, or Chicago area, we suggest you bookmark these spas, immediately.

New York's list includes ten no-fuss salons and one extra-cheap special: A mani/pedi at Annie Ji's is only $15. Watch out, though—the salon is very tiny.

Our LA site enlisted the help of some of their residential fashion folk to pick the best salons. Everyone from J.Crew's PR person Meaghan Curcio to Leyendecker's designers Jessica Moss and Lisa Guajardo weighed in on their favorites. The results are right this way.

Over in Chicago, $10 or $12 appears to be the going rate for a cheap mani. For nail art, the locals recommend Nauty Nail'z, and if you're interested in learning how to become a nail technician while getting your toes done, hit up the Van Nail School. Have a look at the rest of the salons on the list here.
