Baz Luhrman is remaking F. Scott Fitzgerald's Great Gatsby, and it appears he is bringing with him none of the rumpled gentility of the original Robert Redford film. Which isn't so surprising, coming from the director of Romeo & Juliet and Moulin Rouge. Instead of casually elegant Ralph Lauren suits and delicate flapper dress, the trailer is teasing some seriously lavish Art Deco costumes created by Luhrman's wife, Catherine Martin, who also collaborated with him on his earlier films. Tiffany & Co. is doing the jewelry, which accounts for all that blinding bling you see here on Carrie Mulligan. The bad news: You still have seven months to wait until the film is released on December 25.
