OpenSky Now Selling Celeb-Curated Beauty Products

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Veronica Webb for OpenSky, the members-only shopping site where products are curated by celebrities/beautiful people like Veronica Webb and Molly Sims, has stuck its toes into the beauty pool.

The website has already been carrying cosmetics and other beauty products, but now they're actively pushing a beauty strategy. Step one: get beauty heavyweights on board, including hair maestro Orlando Pita and NYT fragrance critic Chandler Burr. Step two: sweeten the deal by getting some of the product-pushers to sell their own stuff, plus offer tips for use and pairing. Step three: land some exclusive goodies, such as Serge Normant's Avah Eau de Parfum hair fragrance. Step four: hope nobody wonders what the heck a hair fragrance is.
