Spritz Your Old Car (Or Yourself!) With New Car Smell, Courtesy Of Ford

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Ford Spain, in partnership with Bassat Ogilvy Madrid, has managed to bottle the new car smell. Dubbed appropriately "Olor a Nuevo," or "Smells New," the fragrance is intended to spiff up used cars, but if you're really into this old favorite, you can always spritz elsewhere. We're just relieved we can stop wearing those little trees around our necks all the time.
