It looks like the Schiap craze is here to stay for a while. Though the average person didn't know who Elsa Schiaparelli was (much less how to spell her name) before this year's Met Costume Institute exhibition was announced, WWD is reporting that the Paris house will ride the publicity around the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibit to relaunch the storied brand.
Schiaparelli’s owner, Italian business titan Diego Della Valle, has tapped Paris fashion personality Farida Khelfa to be the brand's spokeswoman, though he is still searching for a designer. If all goes according to plan, the designer will be announced in September and the first products from the revamped brand will be introduced in February, "with an emphasis on accessories, fragrances and cosmetics, along with some clothing."
Still a little shaky on your Schiaparelli knowledge? Don't worry: you can check out our sister site's handy Beginner's Guide to Elsa Schiaparelli, or just wait for every fashion media outlet in the industry to go Schiap crazy over the next six months.
