Printed maxi fans rejoice: Nicole Richie is designing a capsule collection for Macy's Impulse. The Fashion Star mentor told WWD that her line will have "a strong mix of masculine and feminine: printed chiffon mixed with faux leathers."
Macy's Impulse collections cater to "the Millennials" (WWD's words), which is kind of perfect since Richie's designs have always been targeted at people like her: Of her recent QVC line she said, "I’m a mother of two and I work. We all want to feel relaxed on the inside but stylish on the outside." So this is right in time for the first wave of Millennials to get jobs and make a whole bunch of babies. Well played, Macy's.
The 24 to 30 styles will debut in mid-September at 100 Macy’s locations and on macys.com. No word yet on pricing but the other lines generally capped out at just over $100, so expect an affordable price point.
