Diane von Furstenberg has FDR-ed her position at the CFDA, recently accepting a fourth term as council president. No one seems to mind her monopolizing the presidency, however; CFDA Chief Executive Officer Steven Kolb told WWD that “Diane has done an excellent job as CFDA president. The time and resources she gives and the vision she has created is a huge benefit for our organization and industry.”
The announcement came along with the induction of twenty-six new members, including Rachel Zoe, Vince Camuto, Emily Current and Meritt Elliott of Current/Elliott, and 2011 CFDA prize winner Joseph Altuzarra. Shoe designers Tabitha Simmons and Jean-Michel Cazabat were also tapped. See the full list of inductees over at WWD.
UPDATE:
This post originally indicated that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen of The Row did not make the list, despite winning the 2012 Womenswear Designer of the Year Award. The Olsens are already members of the CFDA, which is why they were not included on the new members list.
