Wedding nail polishes are as personal as the brides themselves, naturally, but one color manages to endure: Essie's Ballet Slippers. This pale pink shade flatters almost everyone, and it remains a big hit with brides. Even Ashley Hebert, the Bachelorette star who found love with JP Rosenbaum on the show, says that she's planning to wear Ballet Slippers at her wedding. So what is it about this color? We went straight to the source: Essie Weingarten herself.

"As a young girl, I was simply devoted to ballet," she told us, "and as an adult, I harbored a deep nostalgia for the ideal femininity of pink ballet slippers. I really thought I'd become a prima ballerina one day—who knew I'd end up in the nail polish business? The staggering popularity of this shade is a testament to the fact that dreams do come true.”

So there you have it, ladies.
