Rodarte has been dipping their toes in plenty of side projects recently—ballet, opera, Elle Fanning—but this fall, Laura and Kate Mulleavy are refocusing on their core line with a collection inspired by the Australian landscape and the debut of their first footwear collection. "For us, every season starts with a shoe idea. Fall allowed us to use a concept we had saved for the right moment," the sisters told Marie Claire. "We created heels made of molded resin filled with layers of colored sand. We wanted to reference the amazing layers of earth in the landscape." Take a peek at what that looks like above, and head to Marie Claire for more images from the collection.
