What with all the seasonal beauty options for skin, hair, and makeup out there, we were curious about if shoppers are giving trendy products a go in the hotter months? Or if despite the trend hype, we're all secretly sticking to the products we know and love. So we asked Amazon to share their 12 best-selling beauty products of the season with us, and here's what we learned:
In terms of general beauty products, everyone and their mom (awkwardly enough) is buying NARS Orgasm Blush ($28)—which is a perennial favorite but makes extra sense in summer what with all the occasions for, er, getting your flush on. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($19.56) is also up there, which, again, makes sense considering the face-melt potential of non-waterproof products in summer. Clean & Clear Oil-Absorbing Sheets ($8.08 for a pack of 50) are another obvious humidity-combatting favorite. In fact, the only real surprise in this category was nail polish: Amazon's top-selling color is OPI's Are We There Yet ($7.50), which is a cheery coral that launched last year with the brand's Touring America collection, not not a trendy seasonal shade. Take that, neon.
Sun care is another huge seller in summer, for obvious reasons. And with all the high-end products available, are people going designer? Nope. Both of the top sun protection products are drug-store favorites: Nivea's A Kiss of Protection SPF 30 Lip Care ($14.01 for a pack of six) and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, ($7 for a 3 ounce bottle).
The top body products are all drug-store friendly, too. Nivea Good Bye Cellulite Serum ($11.69) is happening (it is bikini season, after all), as is Burt's Bees Cranberry & Pomegranate Sugar Scrub ($33.08 for a pack of 3) and L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Pro Perfect Airbrush in the medium natural shade ($8.79).
And now that you're all bronzed and buffed, what about hair? Garnier Fructis Style Surf Hair Texture Paste ($3.50) is the top styling product, so you can act live you've been at the beach all day. Intense Hydrating Mask from Moroccanoil ($34.05) is the top hair care product, so you can act like you haven't been at the beach all day. And Pureology Anti-Fade Complex Color Max UV Defense Spray ($23) is a preventative measure a whole lot of us out there are apparently taking.
