They're baaaaaack! Remember when Swatch watches were all the rage? So much that everyone was wearing two, three, even four of these candy colored plastic watches all at once? Well here's a little 1980s history lesson: Swatch got its name from a contraction for "second watch" and hit the market as the fun, colorful alternative to your fancy work-week version. Kind of like the weekend warrior of timekeepers. Fast forward to summer 2012, and you'll find that Swatch isn't the only game in town. A fantastic-plastic watch revival is in full swing, and its ready to take on the surf, pool or tennis courts.
We've rounded up15 of the best and brightest tickers, from the original Swatch watch to a very 21st first century neon Nooka. And with most of these arm candy darlings priced lower than a Hamptons Jitney ticket, the multi-watch trend may just bring us back to the future.—Julie Chen
