Seems like every where you turn, there's a new espadrille to be had. What was once a simple peasant shoe has been reimagined in every way possible: They get a glam makeover in the form of Brian Atwood’s jewel-toned suede wedge, go preppy with bright stripes from Stuart Weitzman, and turn out tribal-chic courtesy of Belle by Sigerson Morrison. And for those in need of a light shoe you can really do summery things in, like ride a bike, Industry of All Nations offers a sporty canvas sneaker-espadrille (sneak-adrille?) hybrid that the peasant inventors of the shoe probably wish they thought of themselves. Check out 17 of our favorites in the gallery above.—Julie Chen
