Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Look out world: Target has just announced the designer collaboration capsule to end all designer collaboration capsules. The fast-fashion retailer will be partnering with no less than 24 CFDA designers as well as high-end department store Neiman Marcus to create a doozy of a holiday collection that will be sold in both stores. Does this qualify as the world's first high-low-high collab? Whatever you want to call it, here's what you can expect:
Are you ready for collab insanity? Good. Here's a list of who all is participating:
Alice + Olivia
Altuzarra
Band of Outsiders
Brian Atwood
Carolina Herrera
Derek Lam
Diane von Furstenberg
Eddie Borgo
Jason Wu
Judith Leiber
Lela Rose
Marchesa
Marc Jacobs
Oscar de la Renta

Prabal Gurung
Proenza Schouler
Rag & Bone

So, basically, everyone you (we) ever aspired to own a piece of.
Each designer created one to three items, and WWD reports that prices will range from $7.99 to $499.99, with most items going for less than $60.
The collection will launch December 1, and though everyone's being tight-lipped about product details at the moment, it's a safe bet you can expect lots of holiday party dresses and accessories (it's gift-giving season, after all). Target's website also promises "home décor, pet products, sporting goods, and more".
As we mentioned, all products will be sold at the same price at both stores, as well as on Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com. Which means Neiman Marcus locations the country over are going to be subject to the same kind of feral shopping frenzy that typically accompanies a Target collab launch (warn your grandmothers to stay home that day, everyone).
Target has promised to reveal the collections in October, and as the brand is no stranger to the long-lead tease, they are sure to drop some nuggets before then. We'll keep you posted.
