Shu Uemura Is Carrying a 24K Gold Eyelash Curler

When we think luxury beauty products we usually think Creme de la Mer or a rare perfume. But Shu Uemura's new limited edition 24-karat gold eyelash curler is a new kind of luxury.

For one thing, it costs $24, which is more expensive than the average eyelash curler but way, way less than French boutique skin cream. Considering the curler is still at a comfortable light lift-it-up-to-your-eye weight, that probably means it's gold plated rather than carved out of a solid brick of the stuff. But if it doesn't actually leave flecks of gold dust on your eyelashes, is it worth the extra cost?
