Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Olympic retail inspiration shows no signs of letting up and the next round comes in the form of these Manolo Blahnik heels. But Blahnik is nodding a little further back—before Union Jack or the star-spangled banner bedazzled shoes were even a twinkle in some patriotic designer's eyes—to the Ancient Greeks. We can all thank Blahnik's penchant for reading "books and [looking] at albums full of ancient art, sculpture and architecture" for these bronze, silver, and gold striped heel above. But where are the Doric, Ionic, and/or Corinthian column heels, hm? We'll wait.
