Following in the footsteps of Steven Alan and DVF, Barneys has just announced that the warehouse sale will be held online this August. It's a first for the sale, which offers 75% off Barneys' cache of high-end designers and usually generates an above-average amount of sale hysteria.
Barneys is offering access one-day early to anyone who signs up here, which we highly recommend if you have intentions of snagging anything you want in your size. Online sales may be less physically intense than regular sample sales, but merchandise disappears much more quickly—the DVF and Steven Alan sales sold out of all the good stuff almost immediately, and, well, everyone knows what happened with Target. You're going to have to get in early if you want to make out on the deals.
Interestingly, Barneys' online system has not been what you would call seamless in the past. Last holiday season, the department store cancelled several online orders four days before Christmas because of an inventory glitch in their software.
We hope they're well-fortified for this experiment.
The official online sale launch date has yet to be announced, but the physical Warehouse Sale will be happening in New York from August 23 to September 3, so expect it to be around then. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.
